As an intrinsic part of the Total Group, Total Lubmarine supports the 2020 sulphur cap – meaning that the global lubricant supplier is always researching solutions and developing products for the future. By engaging with the industry as much as possible, Lubmarine is also dedicated to increasing its understanding of the challenges that its customers will face.
This year’s annual Sulphur Cap 2020 Conference, organized by Riviera, was held in Amsterdam between April 17 and 18. As a major sponsor of the event, Total Lubmarine was able to showcase its innovative products and services, whilst sharing insights on the future of lubrication.
As a group, Total was well represented, with two speakers explaining the fuel and lubricant challenges for shipping operators, and focusing on Total’s solutions.
Jérôme Leprince Ringuet, Strategy Director at Total Marine Fuels Global Solutions, first introduced Total’s low-sulphur and LNG fuel range. After this explanation of the fuelling landscape, Serge Dal Farra, Global Marketing Manager at Total Lubmarine then highlighted the proactive approach of Total Lubmarine – how it is developing and introducing fit-for-purpose lubricants for 2020.
In recognition of its exemplary work, Serge Dal Farra then presented the efficiency award to MAN Diesel & Turbo, for its 45/60CR four-stroke engine, launched in September 2017.
“With less than two years to go until the implementation of the 2020 Sulphur Cap, events like this are incredibly important. The Sulphur Cap Conference in Amsterdam, hosted by Riviera and sponsored by Total Lubmarine was a fantastic opportunity for us to introduce Lubmarine and our responses to upcoming challenges – from low sulfur fuel options and LNG to our fit-for-purpose lubricants designed for the future.
I’d like to extend a thank you to Riviera for supporting and encouraging the important conversation on 2020, and we look forward to working together in future.”
