Total Lubmarine will be showcasing the latest additions to its innovative range of marine lubes in St Petersburg this September at NEVA 2015. With many of the show attendees operating vessels in cold regions including the Baltic Sea and sub-Arctic, Total Lubmarine sales, technical and logistics specialists from its Moscow office will be available to discuss the complexities of choosing marine lubes that can work in tough conditions.
Total Lubmarine marketing director Serge Dal Farra said:
“After our positive experience of NEVA 2013 we are very pleased to be here again, sharing our latest innovations with the Russian and Baltic markets.
Currently the need for environmentally acceptable lubricants (EALs) is top of the industry’s agenda, focused on by regulators.
Total Lubmarine’s EALs are developed through our own extensive, in-house R&D that incorporates rigorous testing at all stages of development – this ensures real control of the product cycle and performance.
We offer a complete range of synthetic ester EALs for use with all marine oil-to-sea equipment interfaces and have approval from all stern tube makers, including those using the very latest seal technology.
One specific example is our Bioneptan range of lubricants, which has been particularly recommended by manufacturers for the lubrication of sliding rolling bearings within stern tubes. They offer outstanding viscosimetric performances in a wide range of operating temperatures, including especially low temperatures, and have superb anti-wear and anti-corrosion properties.
Total Lubmarine is committed to bringing quality innovation to market and I look forward to sharing more on our current and future plans at the conference.”
For 60 years, Total Lubmarine has been providing the shipping industry with pioneering marine lubricants and greases. Profound change is underway in the marine lubricants industry. Ships are now powered by engines running a variety of fuels with different levels of sulphur content. Engine layouts are evolving and the industry is increasingly faced with the challenge of complexity. This is requiring a reshaping of the conventional design of marine lubricants. Total Lubmarine is at the heart of this change.
Talusia Universal was introduced to the market by Total Lubmarine as the first single solution oil designed for slow-speed engines running on residual fuels with 0.5%-3.5% sulphur content. Vessel operators were delighted to be able to run their engines with such a wide range of fuels, without having to change lubricant. In advance of the introduction of new ECA requirements in January 2015, Total Lubmarine formulated and supplied the market with Talusia LS 25, a cylinder oil for slow-speed engines running on ECA fuels below 0.1% sulphur.
