The IMO 2020 Global Sulfur Cap deadline is fast approaching. Shipowners and operators are creating, refining and implementing their compliance strategies.
The benefit of having a holistic overview of the fuels and lubricants options available is essential to secure a safe transition in 2020, and to perform beyond. To help in this process, Total is organizing forums for the shipping industry and the next event to be held in New York on May 9.

The Total Global Sulfur Cap Forums will bring clarity, expertise and practical advice to shipowners and operators. It will be a unique opportunity for all industry partners to listen and learn from each other through open discussion and debate.

Total’s Global Sulfur Cap Forums will provide expert guidance on technical issues as well as an overview of the long-term ability of Total to supply compliant fuels and lubricants around the world.

Our ambition is to become the responsible energy major providing energy that is affordable, reliable and clean. We are committed to supporting nation states to meet their COP21 commitments as well as supporting the shipping community through this important phase of energy transition. As both a supplier of products and services to shipowners and a major charterer, we understand the complexities of 2020 transition.

We cover all routes to 2020 compliance through the supply of low and high sulfur fuels, zero sulfur LNG, as well as compatible lubricants in all key hubs.  As a leading supplier of LNG, we are making major investments to extend our infrastructure to support the development of LNG as a marine fuel.

The forum is free to attend and open to all. Advance registration is required.

We look forward to meeting you soon.

Held aboard the historic, ‘Intrepid’, a World War II and Cold War aircraft carrier, now a museum, a full house of local shipowners were in attendance to hear how Total was preparing for the upcoming Sulfur Cap regulation coming into force on January 1, 2020.

Speaking in New York, Serge Dal Farra, Global Marketing Manager, Total Lubmarine, expressed the seriousness of the upcoming change by plainly stating: “2020 is a game changer, non-compliance is not an option”

Robert Joore, General Manager, Total Lubmarine, echoed Mr. Dal Farra, adding: “Whichever strategy our customers choose we have a solution and service provision available to support them. Total is ready.”
