This year’s Green Maritime Forum offered a comprehensive program, with expert speakers helping attendees to obtain the tools and practices to help them cultivate the most environmentally-friendly maritime businesses possible.

For Total Lubmarine, this was a chance to showcase their agenda of environmental efficiency and sustainability – but also to help the wider industry understand the solutions they have at their disposal when it comes to the 2020 Sulphur Cap.

Representing the global lubricants supplier, Jean-Philippe Roman, Technical Director was in attendance, delivering an insightful presentation that set the landscape of 2020 – explaining industry solutions and Lubmarine’s own vision for the future of lubrication.

Firstly, Jean-Philippe explained the nature of the IMO’s regulations, and their role in driving the technological evolutions that the industry is seeing. He then explained that Total Lubmarine, as part of the wider Total Group is committed to providing sustainable alternatives – utilising its fuel portfolio to understand and overcome the numerous lubrication challenges that the industry will face.

By doing this, Lubmarine has created and is continuing to pioneer flexible products and effective services and solutions. Speaking of the forum, Jean-Philippe said:

“We are in a very privileged position as part of the wider Total Group, with a close relationship to Total Marine Fuels Global Solutions – meaning access to 2020 fuels and LNG supply. Similarly, in our role as shipowners, operators and charterers, we know the issues that the industry will face – because we will face them too.

The Green Maritime Forum was a fantastic chance to showcase our readiness, reliability and continued research – answering questions on how we can better serve the industry.”

From understanding the IMO regulations and new technologies that they are encouraging, to utilising a wide fuels portfolio to innovate new lubricants and lubrication services – Total Lubmarine remains at the forefront of the conversation on 2020, and looks forward to attending other conferences and events in future.
