Crews from the maritime sector and European merchant navy academies took part in the two day Le Havre Hydro 2017 Cup (31 March – 1 April). The event was organized in collaboration with students from the French Maritime Academy, the yacht club ‘‘Société des Régates du Havre’’ and Total Lubmarine.
Over the two days, the teams raced in 13 J80 boats supplied to crews by the Société des Régates du Havre. The competitors faced challenging weather conditions with a strong current and very little wind.
The eventual winners of the regatta were Le Havre’s Saint-Jo Sup preparatory team who kept their consistency, showcased excellent team work and performed well in the difficult conditions.
