So, we were delighted to be able to hold two recent webinars - The Shipping Webinar Forum and Powergen Webinar Forum - delivered to our customers across Central, South America and the Caribbean.
Nikolaos Kotakis, Technical Director Lubmarine and Gabriel Landaeta, Power Generation Manager Lubmarine looked at the latest issues, thinking and solutions in their respective markets.
This included market and lubricant development insights, current issues driving and shaping the markets and the range of solutions – both product and service led – that Lubmarine offers. They also provided delegates with insights into future lubrication innovations Lubmarine is currently developing.

In his keynote shipping presentation, Nikos looked at key areas affecting shipping customers on their decarbonization journey and how Lubmarine is working to support CO2 reduction:
- Improving energy efficiency
- Reducing energy demand
- Switching to low carbon fuels
He also provided insights into the development of a new Fuel Economy Lubricant from Lubmarine and highlighted the vitally important role that services play in enabling operators to achieve Lubrication Oil Optimization including full lab analysis and onboard kits, drain oil analysis and results interpretation and the support of Lubmarine’s Marine Lubricant Engineers.
Power Generation Webinar
Gabriel guided delegates through the latest power generation market trends in Latin America including:
- Fuel evolution
- Lubrication challenges
- Products and services
- Emergence of alternative and renewable energy production
This included highlighting the value that LNG is delivering as the transitional fuel to drive emissions reductions in PowerGen and the added value Lubmarine is delivering through supporting customers with critical infrastructure and support including the export hubs that Lubmarine has established to deliver bulk quantities of lubricant, supported by a range of training, monitoring and technical expertise.
