The six page feature, ‘IMO 2020: The tsunami that's heading your way’, published in the quarterly TradeWinds publication, cites both Total Lubmarine General Manager, Robert Joore, and Total Marine Fuels Global Solutions (TMFGS) Managing Director, Jerome Leprince-Ringuet.
The comments come following an interview undertaken by editor of TradeWinds Plus (tw+) Paul Berrill in March during the Total Global Sulfur Cap London Forum.
The article highlights both Mr Joore and Mr Leprince-Ringuet’s views on the availability of Total’s lubricants and marine fuels post-2020.
Both highlighted the importance of fulfilling the demand in the major hubs of Total’s current customer base before supplying the smaller terminals around the world.
Mr Joore said:
“Our customers say they will start switching over from September onwards, so we need to have the right products available. We are present in 100 countries and 1,000 ports, so the product will not be in all the ports, but will be in major hubs.”
With Mr Leprince-Ringuet adding:
“We are comfortable about being able to supply our current customer base.”
The article incorporates the views of thought-leaders from merchant banking to market intelligence.
