Michael Trapani, Marine Manager for North America, explains why the U.S. is an important maritime nation, and today marks another great milestone for Total Lubmarine operating in the U.S. maritime industry.
From its early origins, the United States maritime industry has evolved to power the world’s economy, and it has successfully strengthened ties with trading partners around the world. The U.S. Merchant Marine has been a pillar in the country’s foundation of prosperity and security.
These are some of the reasons why our lubricant and fuel experts recognise the importance of today as a way of celebrating what has been achieved across the U.S. maritime industry, and the importance of the country’s shipping industry as a key contributor to the future sustainability of the global movement of goods and services.
Today, as part of the US National Maritime Day, we are proud of how our technical expertise and product choice better supports vessel operators and stakeholders across the supply chain. In the last 12 months some of our achievements include:
- supporting American flagged vessels with deliveries in more than 75 ports throughout the U.S. with cost efficient transport logistics, safely and efficiently.
- supplying government contract vessels with the right technical expertise and solutions at the right time, which has helped to support the operational effectiveness of U.S. vessels anywhere in the world.
- new for this year: we have deployed an offshore barge for deliveries direct in to Houston. We can supply up to 24 miles offshore, which provides the U.S. maritime industry with increased logistical support and improved operations.
From the engineers to the deck hands, to the port authorities and the logistical teams working onshore, and the upcoming marine trainees that will shape industry’s future, everyone across the U.S. maritime supply chain has a key contribution. While we wish all our customers a Happy U.S. National Maritime Day, these are unprecedented times, and our number one priority remains the safety and well-being of everyone across the Total Lubmarine network. We continue to assess the global situation on a day-to-day basis across our operations in order to ensure we can deliver the best service to you in the current circumstances, and we will continue to keep you fully up to date with changes as they happen.
